Overall 8.3/10
Story 8.1/10
Rhaenyra’s gamble pays off, as she gets a major boon to her forces. A child outwits Daemon. Larys continues to cultivate his relationship with Aegon. And Aemond gets a terrible surprise.
The writers use a lot of powerful imagery in this episode, as some characters come to grips with past transgressions. Also, the point of view of the little folk from previous episodes finally comes to fruition.

Character 8.4/10
Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy) shows her fangs. This viewer has been waiting for an entire season. And if she’s smart about it, Team Black should snag the easy win.
Prince Jacaerys Valeryon/Jace (Harry Collette) feels inadequate. He’s not pure blood of the dragon. And because of those who now seek to prove their bloodline, he fears that this search may come back, to one day, rob him of his birthright. But Jace needs to realize without this plan, Team Black is in the red.
Addam of Hull (Clinton Liberty) grew up in his older brother’s shadow. And he desperately wants his father's recognition. Now that he has some of what he wants, he'll never let it go.
Hugh (Kieren Bew) wants to protect and provide for his family. But he hasn’t been able to. This inability costs him something precious and irreplaceable. He’s tired of his current situation. So when he sees his chance, he goes for it.
Ulf (Tom Bennett) talks a big game once he’s got the liquid courage in him. But when his chance arises to prove himself he needs a little push. He tells tall tales. That doesn’t mean he believes them.
Oscar Tully (Archie Barnes) may be a boy. But he is wise beyond his years. He’s skilled in the art of politics. And he knows a little something of honor. Hopefully, he doesn’t share the same fate as others in the Game of Thrones universe, who possess the same values.
Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) is well acquainted with the ghosts of Harrenhal. They force him to come to grips with his foolish and arrogant choices. The haunting has so vexed him that a mere boy outplays him. Perhaps, he should leave Harrenhal and finally face Rhaenyra to show her that he understands the gravity of his actions. But the only way to do that is for him to bend the knee.

Final Thoughts
The Red Sowing is epic and may be the best episode in the Game of Thrones universe to date. Team Black makes a big jump in the power rankings. This viewer isn’t sure how Team Green will recover.
